Chloe Furnstahl is an honor student. She has received National Awards of Merit through PTSA Reflections Program and is active in ASB leadership and the honor level choir at her school. Chloe started playing basketball at 6 years old. She has won the highest honors in Washington State for free throw and jump shots in shooting competitions and won Hoopfest as a first grader in the third-grade bracket. Chloe won the local, district, state, and regional competitions for the Elks Club Hoopshoot! As a Regional winner, Chloe represented Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska at the National Elks Club Hoopshoot Completion. She was flown to Chicago and featured among the 12 top free throw shooters in the United States at the age of 12. Chloe has played AAU club basketball since the 4th grade and she has been a starting guard since 9th grade. The highlight of her basketball career so far, was having the privileged of scrimmaging with Kevin Durrant at Nike Center Court at Hoopfest! Chloe’s experience as an athlete, provides the backdrop for her inspiring presentations.
Chloe is currently a support player for Unified Sports (facilitated by the Special Olympics) and is the coach for the boys and girls basketball programs at Karshner Elementary. Chloe’s experience as an athlete, provides the backdrop for her inspiring presentations.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Chloe grew up dancing. She is a competitive dancer; well versed in all styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, ballroom, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater! Chloe is currently a featured member of Dancers Across America in the Showstopper magazine. She is a Pro-Reveler with the Revel Dance Competition and Convention and has won countless scholarships and awards nationally.
Chloe has put her dance and vocal experience to use in many wonderful roles including: Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Brigita in The Sound of Music, Nala in the Lion King, and Josie in Elf, and Grace Farrell in Annie in community theaters productions. Chloe made it to the executive producer level of America’s Got Talent and was featured in the commercial for the show. She continues to compete at regional and national dance competitions.
Chloe is Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen; a scholarship program affiliated with the Miss America. As a part of the Miss Outstanding Teen, Chloe shared her story in an essay required as a part of the competition. The response to her words on paper were so powerful, Chloe knew she could make a difference for children and young people by continuing to share her inspirational story and positive message about fitness, sportsmanship, and safety. Chloe started the Playing it Safe Program. Chloe visits schools and after school programs providing basketballs to school age children, teaching fundamental basketball skills, and sharing a message focused on fitness, sportsmanship and safety. Chloe provides an inspirational and informative message focused on safety titled: Victim to Victorious to lawmakers, law enforcement, social service agencies, educators, and parents. Chloe has spoken to thousands of students and adults through her prevention and awareness programs.
Chloe is very positive and chooses to share her positive message about prevention with the hope of improving safety in schools, communities, and sports.
Chloe Furnstahl’s experienced traumatic events which could have changed the trajectory of her life. The criminal justice system provided a measure of justice, but true healing came through service. Chloe survived, but would not have become victorious without the support of family, educators, and coaches. Her personal story is a cautionary tale regarding how to stay safe in the community, schools, and sports, and what it means to overcome challenges to become a leader and live a powerful life.

All students receive a free basketball.

Chloe Furnstahl and her family share a powerful message about safety in school, sports, and the community. Teachers, administrators, parents, and youth leaders will learn the keys to identifying safe environments, safe teaching/coaching relationships, and the keys to keeping an open dialogue with kids in relation to school, sports, and the community. The inspirational story of Chloe (basketball player) and her twin Kelly (gymnast) journey through the sometimes wonderful and sometimes treacherous world of AAU, NIAA, and interscholastic sports, provides the backdrop for a powerful presentation about the need for proper support and care of young athletes insights about how parents, teachers, and the community can insure kids are safe and are able to work towards their goals.
